Who it suits

Who This Muay Thai Training Camp Is For

Three kinds of people book with us and the week looks different for each one. Pick the line that sounds like you, then read the programmes below with that in mind.

Never trained

Your first week

Most people who walk in have never trained. You start with one session a day and add the second once you are sleeping and eating well. On the pads a trainer corrects you one at a time.

Already training

A week changes how you move

If you already train at home, a week here changes how you move and a month changes how you fight. The gap is usually footwork and the clinch, which is what the late morning session is for.

Training for a fight

The full four sessions

Four coached sessions a day, Monday to Saturday, with sparring on set days. Over a month, Stay and Train puts a room at the gym so the walk to the morning session is a short one.

The training week

What a Week at the Training Camp Looks Like

Both gyms run four sessions a day, Monday to Saturday, and close on Sunday. You are not expected to take all four. Most people train once a day in their first week.

  1. MorningRun, bag work and pads.
  2. Late morningTechnique and clinch.
  3. AfternoonPads and conditioning.
  4. EveningFull session, sparring on set days.

A session runs about ninety minutes. It opens with a run or skipping, moves to bag rounds, then pad rounds with a trainer who corrects you one at a time, and closes with conditioning.

Your first day

Take one session, not four. A trainer watches your first round, checks how you wrap your hands and works out where to start you. The second session comes once you are sleeping and eating well.

Where you stay

Both gyms run Stay and Train, which is a training pass with a room at the gym. Under a week a pass on its own is usually enough. Over a month, staying at the gym saves the daily trip and keeps the morning session realistic. Full addresses and travel notes are on the contact page.

Two gyms

Two Gyms, One Coaching Team

Both gyms run the same timetable, the same coaching standard and the same prices. What differs is the setting and where you wake up. Read about the Bangkok gym in Bueng Kum or the Pattaya gym on Thepprasit Road.

Your coaches

The Coaches Who Hold the Pads

You are corrected on the pads by the coach whose record is on the wall, not by an assistant. Each coach has their own page with their fight record and the sources it comes from.
